Wow! Space Shuttle over the Hudson River

I arrived at a meeting with Phil Lenger of Show and Tell yesterday just before 10:30 a.m.

I was promptly escorted to the rooftop where Phil had his camera set up on his tripod. He and several others were waiting to get a glimpse of the space shuttle on top of a 747 as it made its final fly-by over the Hudson River before landing at JFK.

The course (and shot above) was north over the Hudson, turn at the George Washington Bridge, and then south again. It was amazing to watch. The space shuttle will reside along side the U.S.S. Intrepid.

So here are two additional shots courtesy of Phil. The first shows the southbound route and the last shot is a long shot. Phil’s office is on West 17th just near Fifth Avenue.
